Comments on: Gaspé Railway’s short crushed stone train getting unloaded at Maria. In late spring 2025, Beluga Construction contracted the Gaspé Railway in order to transport crushed stones for a beach replenishment project in Maria. From July to December 2025, up to 6 train trips a day carried the stones from a quarry east of Nouvelle to a transload facility on the Route des Hirondelles, in Maria. The stones were then transported by trucks for the short distance remaining to the beach.
