Comments on: Getting late in the afternoon on a chilly day standing with a bunch of guys on a bridge which oversees the CN main and off to the left the CP. Boredom sets in because it is all quiet. A bee lands on the railing, the warmth of the sun keeping him active. I stepped in front of it, and the cooling off made him sluggish and this brain(sensored) came to mind. At least a half dozen guys took pictures of this.
After we moved away and it got the sun again, it managed to fly off. (the REAL TH&B managed to survive another 5 years after this picture was taken)
No insects were hurt in the production of this image. :o)

Mike, is that Gary with a "Z"?? Other names I have forgotten, it has been too long.
Since the bridges have names, what moniker do you give to the bridge(s) that span CP and CN when you are looking east to Port Hope 12 oclock and that big smokestack (hydro plant?)would be about 2PM?? I think it is Stacy Rd off Lakeshore.
I would make describing where I am going a lot easier.

Gary, John and Jim told me the story in the 90's. The Stacy Road is known as the 'School Bus Bridge'... they all have names.

Now THAT is a bit much. The BEE Bridge?? Really??
I honestly sat here for a few minutes and laughed over this. Would have never imagined it.
Being on "the other side" of Toronto, I just haven't got it in my system to fight the highway traffic thru the GTA any more, and as a result am out of circulation.
You made my month with that story. Heck, maybe even my YEAR.

And that is why we call it the Bee bridge even 30 years later (the twin CN / CP bridges carried the 'Bee Bridges' moniker even though this was the CN bridge). Heard the story from a few of the guys that were there that day, but have never seen one of the images until now. Like the TH&B, the bridge is also history thanks to a high/wide load.
