9/11 brought lots more security to the canal as well. I’ve seen this bridge get crossed lots of times since then, but I don’t suggest it at all. The seaway people tend to get pissy about it.

Boy, does this shot bring back memories? You betcha? I’d like to have a dollar for every time I crossed the trestles at Lock 4 on my way to or back from the area where the third Welland Canal was located. Apparently – today – thanks to the no-good-niks amongst us, it is very difficult to access Lock 4, and that area where the third Welland Canal once was.
