<title>Comments on: GO meet at CN Keele: GO Transit F59PH 532 splits the signals at Mile 5.3 as it pushes on the rear of westbound Georgetown line train #251 (with cab car 231 leading the L8 consist), snaking off the double track section of the CN Weston Sub at Keele interlocking, and onto the single track gauntlet between Keele and Etobicoke North station (Rexdale). We&#8217;re again riding in the cab of trailing cab car 201 on train #252 (with F59PH 564 in the lead), stopped at the diamond enroute downtown to Union Station Toronto.

Whenever we took morning train #252 (the 9:05am from Bramalea to Union) we had to meet train #251 (the 9:30am from Union to Bramalea). It usually occurred somewhere along this double-track section from CN Keele to Bathurst Street/the USRC to minimize delays, typically somewhere around Parkdale. Today we had to wait for the light at the West Toronto diamond due to CN track work goings-on, allowing #251 to sneak up and pass by us onto the single track section at Keele. #251 would be the consist that went on to run service all afternoon on the &#8220;Bramalea Flip&#8221;, while #252 would do a single southbound run, go out of service at Union and deadhead back to Willowbrook Yard.

CN Keele was located at Mile 5.3 CN Weston Sub, north of the West Toronto diamonds, just to the north of the St. Clair Avenue West underpass. The old CN West Toronto yards were once to the left (redeveloped into townhouses) and CN&#8217;s own West Toronto Station was just to the south. This spot was a bit out of the way and not often photographed, but it also hosted the connecting track to CP&#8217;s MacTier Sub (pictured on the right amid the brush), allowing CN local freights like #577 access to CP&#8217;s West Toronto/Lambton yards via the MacTier Sub and connecting track to interchange traffic with CP. CN Keele was eliminated when Metrolinx triple-tracked the line here, and extended the connecting track all the way to Black Creek Dr. underpass.</title>
