Comments on: Goderich-Exeter Railway (GEXR) train 580 with SLR GP40-3 3806 and RLK 4095 are making a rare daylight appearance to switch the Ampacet Corporation Canada facility. This is currently the last active customer on the Huron Park Spur and was serviced as required by GEXR. Not far from this location the Huron Park Spur has been taken out of service even though the rails are still in place to Manitou Drive. In recent years the former Budd Canada support yard tracks in this area had been utilized to store cars. With the recent transition of GEXR to CN, Ampacet Corporation Canada is now once again serviced by CN, just as they were 20 years ago.

The re-alignment was all done by GrandLinq as a part of diverting the freight track….so no cost to Convoy.

Convoy transloads at Hunts Logistics now, the service is more predictable with more spots available.

Convoy hasn’t used rail in quite a while.

Flanagan will never use rail, the spur is disconnected and half buried.

The other 2 spurs down by Bleams were last used by GoodFellow Lumber and Quantech, easily 5 or more years ago for the later…..Goodfellow has been gone longer.

Shouldn’t that be one of two remaining customers? What about Convoy by Highway 8? I know they did get cars after the re-alignment of the Huron Park for the LRT. But not sure in the last year if they are still getting cars.

Also there looks like two other spurs that could host customers down in the former Budd yard area: One is Flanagan Transport/Warehousing (Large building) and the other is now Perfexia – metals fabricators – the small spur that goes into a lot by Bleams Rd. I believe there were customers there 10 years ago but now gone – new companies since then.
