<title>Comments on: Going, going, gone. With the final TTC H6 run taking place today (Friday June 20th 2014), it&#8217;s only fitting to dig out a few shots of the ol&#8217; tin-cans in action. Employing some &#8220;zoom-panning&#8221; for this shot, H6 car 5814 trails a westbound train zipping out of Sherbourne subway station, bound for the busy Bloor-Yonge stop down the line. Built in 1985-1989 by Urban Transportation Development Corporation Ltd (in a partnership with Hawker Siddeley Canada known as &#8220;Can Car Rail&#8221;) and easily identifiable by their orange doorways and yellow velor seats, the 126 H6 cars were just the next iteration of the Hawker Siddeley &#8220;RT-75&#8243; subway car design (dating back to the early-mid 60&#8242;s) and occupied the 5810-5935 number block after the H5 cars. Known as the least-reliable of the fleet due to a few issues, they spent virtually all their lives operating on the Bloor-Danforth subway line out of Greenwood Yard. An option for more new Bombardier Toronto Rocket cars was exercised to replace the aging H6&#8242;s. Initially a deal was signed to sell a group of 255 H5 and H6 cars to Nigeria for a new rail transit system in Lagos, but the deal was reduced to a smaller group of H5&#8242;s, with all the other cars bound for local scrapyards.</title>
