Comments on: GP40-2 4302 and GE B30-7 5529 are just outside ST Thomas on the caso sub . This photo was taken in March of 1987 but the second unit has already been renumbered for the CSX, which to my understanding wasn’t incorporated til August of 87. ???? And what must have been one of the last wig wag crossing protections in Ontario.

Love the “wig wag” level crossing signal - impeccable timing, catching the swinging arm “out” with red disc indicating stop for vehicles. The irony is the old warning arm still operating, but the cross-buck sign is the “(new” version with no lettering on it, thanks to Trudea’s federal bilingual requirement that wording on all signs on federal regulated property be in both French and English - hence no lettering.

Great shot, I miss the old Chessie paint scheme...on Biggar Road and Crowland where the CP/NYC crossing exists, a Wig Wag was at that location up to probably 20 years back... was always amazed to see it...

Have always been a fan of the Chessie System even though I have not been alive long enough to have seen one. Thanks for sharing.
