Comments on: GP40s on CN on the roster as 4002-4017 were renumbered to 9302-9317 in 1981. The CTG shows no 9311. Does anyone know what happened to it? Wrecked as 4011?? Anyway, it was rather unusual to say the least that 4 of these units would unite to power one train. Pictured is CN 9309, 9312, 9305 and 9313 slowing to a stop in Hamilton yard on a run from Mac. Here, one of the units was set off so I did not follow the train down Niagara. The standard GP40s were all off the roster by 1998; the 9309 to RLK then retired; the 9305 to UP and most recent it is wandering as GMTX 2102. The 9312 and 9313 went to Roberval & Saguenay as their #’s 60 and 66.

CN 4011 was the one totalled in a cornfield meet on L&N in 1978. Interestingly, SOR 4095 which visited the Hamilton shops out of view to the left on occasion, was ex-CN 4004. RLK 4096 on GEXR/OVR is also ex-CN, former CN 4006 and still has its' snow shields. Awesome shot by the way!
