Comments on: Had a lot of trouble with this image. Bad notes, bad memory, bad references. Newly painted VIA 1402 is leading this one, x-CP 1402; but is this the Super Continental? Or Canadian? I am also unable to make out the number on the second unit. My slide is poorly marked. Result of being misplaced when received in the mail, and the whole box of 36 probably ended up a bunch of mystery shots as well. If I ever find them :o) It looks like Cabin D and Bathurst Bridge in the background. The change in this area is unbelievable. The 1402 was retired in 1983.

There was a Staff/Token signalling system in the Tecumseh Tower. Between the tower and the crossing watchmans shack at Spadina and Front Sts. Maybe not in service when this photo was taken,but definately in the early 60′s.

Lotta good stuff in this shot! The B-unit appears to be “CP” F9B 1964, by now owned by VIA and renumbered from the CP 447x series but not yet repainted. Tower on the far right is CP’s Tecumseh St. Tower that controlled CP movements from Parkdale Yard across CN’s tracks and to the freight shed lead (note the diamond under the 5th car).
