Comments on: Have you ever got a shot you were personally quite pleased with only to come across a train about a month later much more deserving of the angle? Well, that’s what happened to me today. About a month ago I shot the CN spray train crossing the Welland River on its way to Port Rob and thought to myself “well that’s pretty neat.” Tonight however, detour train 122 with EMDX 1606 on point came into Canada in the early evening hours from Buffalo, and as far as I am concerned is much more deserving of this location. Talk about the pinnacle of the hobby – a detour train (for those not local, CN never runs stacks on the Stamford) with an EMDX demonstrator leader in the soft evening sun. Worth the drive indeed, and I hope you all don’t mind the repeated angle.

But your reroute still counts my friend!! Honestly… the best part of the hobby is the unknown. CSX Detours in 2005/6 and NS reroutes in 2011… need I say more with the EL detours in 1970???

Just wait James – the pinnacle of the hobby is certainly debatable… but a CP re-route here…

or NS / CSX reroutes.. which happened in 2005/6… could happen again easily, just a matter of time.

I didn’t know about the derailment until know. So they had to cut under Lake Erie? Could have used the CASO sub now.

Brad, the stack trains have been coming in over at Fort Erie since the derailment in Sarnia. 122 is the usual 148.
