Comments on: Headed into the evening sun, CN 431 climbs through Limehouse about a month or so before operation of the Guelph Sub is handed over to the Goderich – Exeter Railway. GE Dash 9-44CW 2563 on the point is just over a year old, emerging from the factory in July 1997, and 25 years later is still seen plying the rails.

Roger that, what time did it head west? But what I was speculating on was the big new GE prior to the GEXR takeover.

Quite the timing of this photo as last night's iteration of this train (CN 533) was just as much of an eye popper. It had CN 3098, BNSF 8440, NS 4036 for power. Since there's no wye in Kitchener, the NS most likely led back to Toronto.

Well well.. so it did happen! Of course these led a ton during the 2003 detours... (and any others, and there were many, including the 2000 milton CNR bridge replacement)
