Comments on: Heading eastward, the Montreal section of the VIA Canadian No.2 stops for passengers at the classic old CP station at Carleton Place, ON. Being early 1981, we’re only 3 years into the formation of VIA, and the consist of this train attributes to that. The “CN” is showing thru the tattered paint of the leader, B unit 6621 sports the new blue & yellow scheme, as does the 5th car, but heritage CP and CN coaches are very evident. Of course this is part of the trackage that has made all the news lately, track has been taken up all the way up to Mattawa, a distance of close to 200 miles. In town here, the station still stands, but the track is only a fond memory.

Peter: This particular image was made with Kodak 100 ASA 35MM print film back then. I used Kodakrome 64 as well in a second camera but to my later dismay was never a slide fanatic.
