From my experience with the CSX staff and crews out of Sarnia they have all been friendly, trusting humble people that are happy to talk and share information/ memories. They generally don't care if you walk around the shop area if you ask, they usually say just stay off the equipment, however they usually warn of nearby chemical security that aren't so friendly. I've spoken with both friendly and extremely rude security from around the area, most don't care if you're on csx property as they can't really do anything. But be careful, I've had to deal with law enforcement before, they can be quite suspicious as to why you're photographing trains but as long s you're honest, trustworthy and not breaking the law (trespassing) you should be fine. In fact its public property along Clifford St. right up to the station, so you will have no problem shooting there, but if you venture into csx lands Definitely get permission first.

Hey Myles....been to Sarnia numerous times to try and photograph the CSX around the station and surrounding grounds. However...always see a railway police or security vehicle there. Haven't been brave enough to ask permission....did you? Or maybe you work for the CSX???
