Comments on: Here is a look back at TH&B Van 80 nearly 34 years ago exactly as she sits in the Maple Leaf Mill (MLM) and Government Elevator yard. According to the TH&B Historical Society Van 80 was scrapped between 1993 and 1995 – Exact Date and Place Unknown. Either way she saw only 20 years on the rails before the cutters torch and trip back to the Melt Shop. Flash forward to Feb. 2021, and with Great Lakes Shipping on the Winter Break, the grain hoppers are rolling back into Port Colborne, keeping the ADM Mill (former MLM) with a steady supply of Canadian wheat, this time under Trillium’s power and section group.

Thanks for this photo. After Toyota opened in Cambridge, CP created an 2 assigned jobs to run between Quebec St (London) and Hamilton both to Aberdeen & Kinnear. One job worked Mon/Wed/Fri & the other Tues/Thurs/Sat. Sometime around 1990 these jobs were the last mainline runs on the London Division to still have a van (caboose). Somehow one of these TH&B vans became integrated into the equipment pool on this job, sharing duties with a CP van on the opposite assignment. Inside they were exactly like the CP run-through pool vans of the same design. Of course, like so many other times..I didn't carry a camera to get photos
