		<description>As a retired railroader (over 37years), first thing I noticed was the open knuckle. 

An old timer once told me.. always close the knuckle in snowy weather, otherwise snow packs in the openings and the pin won&#039;t drop until it is removed...usually with a fusee (flare). 

This proved especially true on the branchlines with single units where we didn&#039;t turn the power and pulled the return train on the other end.</description>
