Comments on: Here is an image of an old station largely ignored by the railfan community. Perhaps because it has been gone for a number of years. The Beaverton station was constructed around 1906 by the Canadian Northern. The railroad was taken over in 1918 by the Canadian National Railway. This station contained an ticket/operators room, a passenger waiting room, as well as freight and express. Passenger traffic dwindled early along after Hwy 12 was built thru the east part of town. I haven’t a record of when the station was demolished, but understand it was in the early 1990s. The building stood at mile 64.2 Bala Sub.

Thanks, Todd. Yes, you're right. There was a small bus-stop type building for passengers. It was removed when the station was.

Great photo Arnold. When VIA still stopped here, I believe they built a wooden 'shelter' over the platform, just to the right of the station. Sad these buildings just can't be repurposed.
