Comments on: Here we have CN L570 passing under Weston Road in Vaughan, Ontario with CN 2166 leading, a Dash 8M. This unit originally belonged to Union Pacific but was then purchased by Canadian National. CN has recently put a list of units for sale. Most of the units are CN Cowl fleet and a few are the 8M’s. They will most likely be scraped as most of them are old and worn down. If you ever find yourself in this area I would strongly suggest stopping by and taking some shots from here as it is a very nice overhead location. To the East you have Mac Yard and to the West you Have BIT (Brampton Intermodal Terminal). You tend to see a fair amount of trains here, Trains consists of Power move from BIT to Mac, Local Job’s switching out the industries and the massive manifests for and from the CN Halton Subdivision. Hope you guys enjoy!

Good shot for such a built up area, but not a "Dash 8M' and not exUP.
The "M" designation is used on the "Draper Tapers" (2400's, 4600's). Your looking at a C40-8W, or"Dash8-40CW". The linage of this unit is BNSF/ATSF, the dead give-away is the "gull-wing" roof on the cab, plus the fact that all of the exUP Dash8s that CN acquired are "Standard cab" C40-8 models. Happy hunting.
