Comments on: High Green at Allandale. The last southbound GO train is about to pass the newly activated signal at the north end of the Barrie yard. The number plate and signs on the signal are still covered.

Yup, CTC on the north end of the Newmarket Sub was finally activated recently. Such ends the last of the “dark territory” era (clearances, OCS) on GO Transit.

This particular signal was installed during the summer. It was operated briefly in December and was reactivated February 18th. The covers are off the signs today, so it must be official.

It was early 2014 I first saw signals between Aurora and Barrie. Glad to see they’re finally working!
