Comments on: How has it been 25 years already. I always found Hagersville such an interesting railroad town. I so wish the old Canada Southern survived. Back then any chance to railfan Railink was a good day out with an interesting roster. In the beginning motive power shortages forced them to lease CN M420’s and later GP40’s, GP38’s and GP9’s. I miss these days but glad I spent the time I did. Even though back then the old CASO was unused, Railink always had to stop and manually get the signal to cross the diamond in Hagersville. Today everything here has been removed other then the Hagersville subdivision itself and the majority of the CASO has been erased from the landscape never to return again. Borrowed CN GP40 9527 leads the Brantford bound train across the now removed diamond. The covered hoppers are out of the now closed power plant in Nanticoke.

The same procedure was required crossing the CASO in 2005/2006 in Fargo.

The track was technically still in service though as they had storage cars on the east side of the diamond
