Comments on: I came across this repurposed Procor Limited tank car while driving from 150 Mile House to Likely B.C. I did a search on the Canadian Freight Cars site and this is the only tank listed there with an 8398 Imp. Gal. capacity. If this is the one, it would have been #’d 18444, built late 50′s or very early 60′s. This location is 26 Km north of 150 Mile House at a road maintenance yard known as Pit #1888 – Skulow Lake.

Thank you. This information adds more than a few more pieces to the puzzle. As always ... very much appreciated.

The double row of rivets on the tank head connection make this an ARA Type II tank car, most likely constructed in the 1930's. Fusion welding of tanks was approved in 1941 and an accepted practice mid decade. This may be an ex IOX tank car; Procor (then known as Products Tank Line) purchased the Imperial Oil tank car fleet in 1952.
