Comments on: I had stepped of VIA #1 at Kamloops North around 20:00 on this overcast June 4, 2022 evening in the hopes of catching some machinery at the Work Equipment shop not too far from the station. Walking back from my sleeper towards the tail end Park car I saw this fresh from the paint shop fire fighting consist waiting to have remaining road number decals applied. CN 100004, CN 100005, & CN 100006 ‘Poseidon’ were identical to a brand new set of cars I snapped at CN’s Walker yard earlier in my journey. A tremendous contribution by CN to fight the annual forest fires experienced in this part of the country.

That is the natural terrain in and around Kamloops. Scrub covered sandy hillsides with trees at the higher elevations. Western Canada's desert environment. Very similar to Kelowna where I live.
Here are a few other pics from the CN yard in Kamloops where you can see the rolling hills and typical geography in the background.

I was not able to get close enough to look for the frame stamped numbers on each car, but these are repurposed rolling stock. This is a self-contained fire fighting consist with a diesel generator providing power for the high volume water pumps and surround lighting. I do not know if the tanks are connected and self-levelling, but it appears they feed the large plastic reservoirs on the deck of the bulkhead flat. I believe there is also a provision to draw water from a stream or lake at trackside if available.

Have never seen this kind of equipment before. Looks like they were created from used freight cars, and are the tanks linked to each other ? Is that high pressure pumping on the middle car, or are these cars just to transport water to other fire fighting equipment ? John
