Comments on: I hate to say it, but I have not had the best of luck when seeing the Royal Canadian Pacific business train in both instances. Each time, my camera and lighting did not cooperate, and if clouds were human, I would surely have a heated discussion with them after this shot, especially because I cut weeds for three hours to get it. However, at least I saw this train, as not everyone could. Having waited since 3pm, and constantly monitoring the train to see if it departed Agincourt, eventually it was lined up. Around 4:35pm, I heard the distinctive old cast horn of an F unit at Rosedale, probably the crew greeting railfans. About a minute later, CP 40B-17 roared past on its way to London. Many CP execs were in the last car looking out the rear window, staring me down as the train rolled away. At this point, I’m sure they had seen many railfans along their trip, and there will be more down the line, and probably when they head back to Calgary too.

Thanks! I do have a pair of clippers, but they were at my other house in St. Catharines. As for weeds, even a goat wouldn't eat them! I was more afraid of getting slashed by one of the sharp weeds than by my own kitchen knife. Needless to say, I'm doing this again unless another RCP comes through, or I have a nice weed mower that can level anything in sight.

Looks like you did a good job, Daniel. Unless you can get your hands on some small clippers to carry with you, the only alternative would be at "Rent a Goat", and have your weeds cleared while you watch. :o) Nice photo location, by the way.

Thanks! Yeah, the weeds were a good five feet tall around the tracks, and all I had were gloves and a steak knife to cut them down. The ultimate railfan gift for me, is a weed mower, it would come in handy so often.
