Comments on: I kept thinking this was a westbound when I looked at the photo, but on back of the print I have written “approaching Cobourg Sta 6:55PM (Sunday)” so going by the timetable this would be an eastbound, and the afternoon sun is reflecting off the cars. I had forgotten this was painted up into the “VIA” colours well before VIA became official.

Thanks. I am actually not clear on their demise; probably direct to scrap save for that one that burned up right on the rails while in operation…..somewhere toward Belleville, I think.

Awesome shot. I only got to work this train once before they were pulled from service and replaced by the LRC trains.
FYI,you can also tell it is eastbound by the fact the headlights are on for forward movement and the red light is off as it would be on if the train was westbound
