Comments on: I lived near here for a few years in the mid to late 80′s, and my Grandparents called it home into the mid 90′s so Burlington is a place I’ve always enjoyed visiting. (Almost moved here a few years ago too!). I played soccer in Sherwood Forest park just to the east of this spot and most certainly was distracted by the trains. Nothing has changed except the road has become much wider (soon to be made into an Underpass) and these classic Searchlight signals of the Oakville are the signals of my youth. With a skating tournament nearby all weekend I took the opportunity to make sure I caught the train while I had the time. This is only my third train photo here over the last 15-20 years. 554 has a good cut of cars, somewhere around 85 cars, cement from CRH Port Credit, lots of autos from Oakville and after working Suncor (former Petro Canada refinery) in background for an hour and a half has a good cut of petroleum too.
Fun fact: In the 80′s you could really smell the sulfer from the refinery, some nights it was really strong, seems those days are long gone.

I'll bet you've seen these units before. :-)
A little tough making out the last numeral on the side of the cab. Thanks Jamie.

It's amazing how similar this scene is to the Edmonton area that I frequent. The GP38-40 combo has become the norm here too. Perhaps that is the 4795 in behind?
