Comments on: I must have been the only one who insisted on calling this location “Jarvis”. I stand corrected. The little ‘office’ has been moved a few times. Twice below Concession 8 Walpole road crossing and then north of it, where it is in this photo. RLK 4095, 1757 and 4057 are ready to depart southward. From RaiLink to Rail America and now part of the G&W family; this facility has undergone almost as many changes as it has in power !! I understand the 4057 is still around (somewhere), the 1757 was sold and scrapped by 2013 and the 4095 is on the GEXR as of late. The ‘office’ has been demolished.

I last saw a photo of 4057 at MEI in St. Louis, it was part of the G&W trade in program for rebuilt GP38-2's. The SOR received RLHH 2111 for 4057.

I don't blame you really, this Jarvis cutoff was apparently built approx 1978 between HWY 6/3 with the yard, prior to which CN would have run along side HWY 6 to Jarvis, taking the connector east on the Cayuga then south on the Nanticoke spur, my understanding was it was about 10 years that both CN and CP trains would use the spur as it was before they decided to make a yard and a cutoff.

Explained nicely in this diagram I found some time ago, took me a bit to find it again:
