Comments on: I still find it hard to believe this first of the series GP 40-2(W) #700 has been gone from the GO Transit roster since 1991; amazing (to me) 29 years distant. It became CN 9668, retired in 2002. The APCU unit behind, #901 (former ONR) held on until around 1995. I don’t know what became of it. Scrapped? Anyway, this is a pleasant late afternoon GO run from Toronto to Hamilton and return as so many of us seasoned train nuts remembered it.

Love the shot! I was lucky enough to run all of the GO GP 40-2(W)'s and the 900 class APCU. Loved having the high speed geared 9300 class CN GP40's. But my favourites were the Ex Rock Island GP40's

Great shot! Yes, 901 was scrapped unfortunately, along with every other APCU except 904, which is rusting away in Florida. Love the vintage GO pics Arnold, keep them coming if you have any more! Thanks for sharing.
