Comments on: I visited CN’s Stuart Street yard and roundhouse many times in 1960. In this May visit, I took record shots of the roundhouse and water tank–also capturing two unidentified steam locomotives, a 1300-series SW1200RS and S7 8211.

It's unreal how the old GWR structures were razed, GWR spared no expense in their Hamilton structures considering how much stone was used... but as it was during these days (the 60's) heritage value wasn't really as appreciated as it would have been today. Agreed on seeing more photos of the buildings, they've fascinated me for some time.

Take notice that the number plates and headlights on the steam locomotives have been removed---I'll bet they ended up in some lucky person's private collection

That water tower is amazing! I'll bet there are a few old railroaders hoping the steamers will get reprieve at the time of this photo.
