Comments on: I was heading to Niagara on this Saturday for no real reason in particular, other than something different to do. I was on the 406 when I heard 331 call out for somewhere on the Grimsby Sub so I exited at the off ramp nearest to the tracks and pulled up Google Maps in a parking lot and realized I was near Merritton so off I went with a few minutes to spare. Like most others I am not overly fond of Tier 4′s but something about a solo one is somewhat interesting to me. And here, 3179 was solo on 331, hauling 31 cars through St. Catharines with a bit of fog lingering over the Seaway. The bulk of the traffic was empty grain hoppers, likely from the Port Colborne Grain Terminal and/or ADM Milling down in Port Colborne.

Thanks! Definitely an interesting vantage point up there. The first time I'd ever checked out Merritton.
