Comments on: Image caption: A bit of a time machine shot. sdforty’s shot from 1978 prompted this updated shot. The station was boarded up in the late 80′s. When CN abandoned the Newmarket sub north of Bradford in 1996, the land and track to Bradford was purchased by the City of Barrie. The buildings were fully restored in 2011, but ended up in a lawsuit due to a development deal gone sour. Subsequent to that a full archeological assessment is being done to address first nations concerns. The piles of soil and flags are part of that process. Excavation on the site has also revealed the stone foundation of the original Ontario, Simcoe and Huron station. The Master Mechanic’s building was restored as part of the Southshore Community Centre in 1994. Here’s the link to the photo from 1978. http://www.railpictures.ca/?attachment_id=46116

Well done. Nice to see that this was restored. Upon my only visit...must be at least 15 years ago now, it was in the 'stalled' restoration state as described.
