Comments on: Impressive collection of stored power building up at the GIO facility off Philips Rd. From the right, JLCX 3502, CN (IC) 2462, CN 2019, CN (BCOL) 4623, and these eyes could not make out the last two, 24xx and a 20xx. I guess these are all stored in a safe place (NO trespassing) pending a new home. Rescued from the scrapper.

On September 18 2024 IC 2462, CN 2019, BCOL 4623, 24xx and 20xx are first up behind CN 2034 at the north end of the former Service Track Mile 7.7 Canal Spur across from SLM Recycling.

I can confirm this, LDS does work for JLCX among many other railways, shortlines and industrial operations. Anything in a 4-6 hour radius they have and can do with mobile services.

Homerjay84. While 3502 is owned by JCLX, I understand the lease has now been taken over by LDS. Awhile back 2 LDS trucks were at the Trillium Phillips road facility trying to assess 3502′s issues. They are not able to correct the problems on site so its going back to Sarnia at some point.

LDSX owns both gp38′s and one is at ETR for a temporary assignment to test bigger power.

It will likely go to welland after unless LDSX gets another. They haven’t yet.

NiagaraMike, 3502 is owned by JLCX, different lessor then LDSX.

Stephen I herd speculation on the GP38 in Tillsonburg was so they don’t need to run LHF all the time and if one fails there is a spare on site. Also GIO owns ETR now?

There are no more GP38′s – one is at ETR and the other in Tillsonburg (GIO). One will have to come to welland…..

Not sure why they sent one to Tillsonburg if so.

I agree Steve a better place to store them. I don’t think any of them figure in Gios future. Even 3502 is supposed to go back to LDS being swapped for a GP38 painted LDS black! 3502 has some serious mech. issues i’m told!
