Comments on: In 1879 the Credit Valley Railway came to Streetsville and the first train ran late in the year after this rather ornate station was constructed. The Canadian Pacific gained access to the CVRR in 1883 and by 1909 it was completely absorbed by CP. The line was so busy a second track was added, resulting in the station being moved away from the track to the corner of Ontario & William St., where it remains to this day. It is rather unusual that the second station, built by CP @1914 was demolished in 1982 while the original CVRR station from 1879 is still with us.

I worked briefly on the Milton GO trains as Conductor back in 2000-2001. One of the regular “groupie” passengers that sat near the Conductor, mentioned this station to me. It must have been a residence at some point, as she went on to tell me that she had lost something there in her late teens. Only a small amount of imagination is required to fill in the blanks.
