Comments on: In light of a recent power shortage, the York Durham Heritage Railway has reached a deal with Ontario Northland to lease out an old high-hood GP9 for the near future. After a tumultuous delivery journey and several arguments between CN and Metrolinx over who should deliver it, the ONT 1603 is seen departing Uxbridge on a sunny May morning with a long train full of locals and tourists.

Ever since I heard of 1603's position on the south end of the train, I had this shot in mind to capture the "small town feel" of Uxbridge. Everything is blossoming into life and colour this time of year so I seized the chance to grab this shot. Here's to a better year than last on the YDHR!

Owen, great picture of “branch line” railroading, a classical small town scene with a historical GP9 rumbling by the local feed store, so much colour from yellow dandelions to the blue sky and the colourful ONR paint scheme - can’t get much better than that ! Glad to hear it was a long train filled with passengers. May YDHR have a successful and prosperous 2023 season. Thanks for the picture, John
