Comments on: In my notes I have this train written as 525, hope that makes sense as in later years I never came across that number again. This day I was surprised with this much power the train was running over the Oakville sub. and not up the Hamilton sub. to Guelph junction, unless some of these racks were for the Ford plant in Oakville. By this date the old brick works in the background was history and the land was slowly being redeveloped into a residential community. That was not the only change coming to the area, but it would be several years before the Oakville sub. got a full upgrade and the last CP trains ran over the line.

The straight SD40's were definitely disappearing. Not long after I headed to Welland and a string of them were dead in the yard.

Nice mix of paint schemes. The 5542 is neat as I believe at that time CP had already begun storing and retiring it's fleet of early SD40's.
