Comments on: In response to a question asked by DAL (re picture 24912) I am attaching this picture of a stand alone wood frame freight shed at Midway BC. The building was located near the station but north of the main line. Using my past experience and taking an educated guess I would say foot print of the building would have been about 29ft x 29ft. It had two 6ft W freight doors (one each on the north & south sides) and had no man door or windows. The 8ft W platform ran the full length along the north side. If the building was built using CPR standard practices, the exterior walls would have been built using 10 ft long 2 inch x 6 inch wood studs spaced at 2 ft O.C. The finished floor elevation would met the CPR standard requirements for unloading railcars. The building had a crawl space under it. One thing I have always liked is to look at a railway building & picture it being used.

Thanks Jan! Looking at the surroundings it appears the track ran behind (north) the building without a track to service the south side. I believe this structure may have been cut down from a larger building that would have been served from the south side (maybe both?). I very much appreciate your information.
