Comments on: In response to Myles Roach’s recent photos from Port Lambton – this is not a great shot – but you can’t do this anymore. CSXT D725 with CP Run-through power and about 90 cars are southbound at Port Lambton, Ontario – all crossings in this little hamlet are blocked and will remain so for a while as the train trundles along at 15 MPH. Once all crossings are occupied the train will speed up to 25 MPH for the run to Wallaceburg and Chatham.

Interestingly enough – would you call this a mainline train if it was powered by a pair of gp38-2′s which was typical power from 1996 to 2003? CP run through power only lasted from 2003 to Feb 2006 – in hindsight not very long but every D725 I shot had CP power at the H/E….

Fascinating shot! Today I can hardly imagine ‘mainline’ freights travelling along this line, it seems so foreign to me, as I’m used to the now typical 1-3 trains a week.
