Comments on: In the days of Guilford, you never know what power would come over for the Fort Erie traffic interchange; since the Guilford Transportation Industries had taken control of North East US railroads; D&H, B&M, MEC, ST and was running them in a rather poor fashion as the infrastructure disintegrated due to lack of maintenance. By 1988, only 4 years after the takeovers, GTI was bankrupt. But in that brief time period, there was a bounty of colourful power coming over from Buffalo. A nice example here is MEC 593 and 591; rolling slowly up to the International Bridge, anticipating a light in order to cross. In the background, the once-busy CN shop and the Central Av bridge, which recently was replaced.

Thanks for the comment. My "beloved" D&H did show up here a few times, as well did the B&M; but I never got to see a Springfield Terminal unit show up. That would have taken the cake!! :o)

Who wudda thunk two MEC geeps would come in to Fort Erie on an interchange run? Although Guilford did a number on your beloved D&H, it was sure a colourful time!
