A crap ton of 9500 and 9600′s were indeed stored, and now being sent for rebuild. Some were also re-activated, as far as I know. Not sure how many are out now.. but I don’t hear much about SD60′s out this way these days…

I doubt they’re “getting rid” of them. Probably sending a lot more for rebuild, but not off the roster.

Nobody will believe me but CP is also getting rid of the AC4400CWs! a bunch are going into and are in storage and once i went railfanning at Dixie GO and only ONE train had an AC4400CW on it! that day there was 3 CPs…

Honestly, lately not even the SD60′s are making an appearance around here.. I don’t know where they ended up…

In the winter the power planners had DC (SD60)/AC (any GE) combos on trains to/from Buffalo….. then that stopped.

Just have to see what comes your way I guess! Give us an extra toot of the horn if you see us and I hope you find yourself in a photo here

Too bad I have not caught 6027 yet, and I have been out on the galt quite a few times but I only get the usual 8000 series GEs.
