Comments on: In this scene the Stewart Southern Railway is around 25 miles into it’s 80 mile journey between Richardson and Stoughton, all of which is 10mph. There are quite a few elevators along the line, including this one at Sedley, however it takes some patience to chase this operation.

Thanks guys.

There was three grain cars on the tail end in this image that went to two separate elevators, plus they set off lots of grain cars earlier in the trip. Presumably the tanks went to Stoughton or to a storage track somewhere. Its a two day trip for the SSR to Stoughton, so I didn't see day two.

There is an oil facility just outside of Stoughton, John. Might be this trains' destination.

Matt, great typical prairie branch line picture, not only glad to see an “old time” grain elevator which helps to make the picture , but to hear it is perhaps still in use. As for 10mph, with my walker that’s my “maximum” speed these days, and gives you lots of time to get to the next picture location and time to contemplate the fact that 85 pound rail is still in existence and use ! One question, looks like oil tank cars in the consist, but don’t see any grain cars. Well done, thanks for posting, John
