Hi all, I had a conversation with Wayne Ettinger founder/president Trillium.

the line north to Kemira was purchased by Trillium, as a result, it's covered by Ontario Shortline Railway Act. 30 days and they not only abandon service, the line can be ripped up at will.

The Merriton -> Welland -> Feeder segment is leased from CN as they wished to retain rights for re-routes, etc. So any abandoned sections of that line revert to CN.
