Comments on: It has been a long time since I have witnessed the turning of power on the table. Here is CN 4589 going thru that very motion on the For Erie turntable which was to the south of the main shop building (background) and to the east of the roundhouse. Always was some entertainment for the fans back in the day when CN had a sprawling yard and the capability to handle many heavy locomotive repairs. All gone now.

Very nice – this is so hard to find now, I had to see this in Altoona PA when a couple units were taken for a spin on that turntable -a switcher (SW1001) and a six axle just fit on that guy – NS even upgraded it in the last few years.
