Comments on: It has been a number of years since ONT 503 last worked a derailment on the ONR. It now sits dead on a yard track outside the ONR shops in North Bay seemingly waiting for its next call that will never come.
ONT 503 is an Industrial Works 160 ton wrecker, serial number 3980, built in 1919. I think she looks pretty darn good for 104 years old! :-)

This crane & flat car sat in the OVR yard in North Bay for 2 months approx awaiting transfer to Capreol. ONT, CNR offered transfer at N/C. CP in Sudbury refuesed to have it on the main line. It was returned to ONR yard in the Bay. It is still there as of Nov 23-2024 Val Croswell

With both North Bay Salvage and AIM Recycling just a stones throw away from where the crane currently rests, I'd put my money on razor blades rather than a stuff and mount at a museum. ????
