Comments on: It has been awhile since GP 9s worked the QNS&L. Here we see QNSL 157 and 151 working a cut of cars in the Sept Iles yard. The 157 was retired a couple of months after this 1981 photo was taken. The 151 fared better, having gone to the Owego & Harford in NY State in 1993, then on to the Ottawa Valley/Southern Ontario Rwy in 1997 as their 4205. She was scrapped in 2008. I recall this unit working around Brantford not that long ago.

Actually, in the long run 157 fared better: sold to Metro Industries (dealer), later sold to Cando Contracting (becoming CCGX 1000), operating on the Barrie Collingwood Ry, Orangeville Brampton Ry, and finally today working the Lafarge cement plant in Bath ON.

Funny how both worked for years together, and later worked not too far from each other in the GTHA.
