Comments on: It is almost hard to believe now that there was a time when railfanning around the Niagara Region could keep a Railfan busy all day, even Niagara Falls was still a busy railroad town. Back in 2002 CN Niagara Falls yard was still a busy place, not just for CN but NS run-through trains as well. While the stack trains to Dain City were history, NS still had through trains 327 / 328 and the NS Buffalo to Niagara Falls turn job 445. ON this day venerable former Conrail Dash-8 8202 was pulling off the Stamford sub. at Cliffton and about to back into the CN yard. Sadly today these old Dash-8′s are long gone along with CN’s yard in the “Falls”. Today NS only runs as far as Fort Erie, and trains 327 / 328 are history as well.

According to my Conrail book, there were only 10 of the C32-8's originally numbered 6610-6619, some received the grey ballast express paint job.

They lasted until 2008, I believe, but it wasn't often you spotted these away from the Boston Line....and they had to be rare in Canada.

This was a neat catch as there would likely not have been many NS C39-8’s remaining at that time.
