Comments on: It is getting to the end of August already, which means another season of CN 6060 is drawing to a close. So on this Saturday I dragged the sidekick out for the day and we gave a mini ‘chase’.
In this view, we are down at 9th St Louth, off 4th Ave just west of St. Catharines.
The oil-fired “Bullet-Nose Betty” really put on a show, moving along at quite a clip. Unfortunately for some odd reason the sidekick dressed in white for the day, and lets just say she got smoked out.
Back on the old bridge you can just make her out; hope she got a good photo.
The “railfanning” 76 Cougar is parked at left as I booted it in to the field. I knew I had little time for this shot. Switch stand, out of service, was for one of the last sidings in Niagara that still had a fruit storage building adjacent to it.
These were fun days. The old bridge was deemed unsafe and replaced just a few years ago.

@Kenneth: Riding behind 6060 in the Canadian west would be a thrill for the fans that would be hard to pass up. Count me in!
Lets hope the boys loosen up the wallet and get her operational again.

LOL@AW..I was a we lad back then and had no idea that i would end up becoming a locomotive engineer! Don't tell Snake 2 this, but I was obsessed with trains as a kid and spent many hrs taking pictures near the CP line in Scarborough. One day a CP cop nabbed me for trespassing and took me home and told my mom what I was doing :-)

Ya know, Snakie; I wanted to buy another blue vehcile these days but couldn't find what I liked. :o)
I thought you were going to give me the what-for concerning trespassing on CN property. No matter though. The statute of limitations should protect me from you by now.
