Watching the pair of matching “F” units clean up everything in the yard and leave town was certainly sombering. Fir the most part I missed the CN and CP days here. I first passed by the yard in Tillsonburg not long after Trillium took over for CN. A pair of worn and painted out CN M420′s sat in the mainly empty yard with the old tobacco houses still standing trackside. As the years progressed the power and the yard itself gradually looked better. Unfortunately the future of the line only got more questionable as the years of passed, and maintenance became non existent. Unfortunately passing the torch from Trillium to to he OSR did little to secure the future and many Railfans came out today to witness the end. This shit for me sums it up best with all cars leaving town collected. The rest of the yard sits empty with greenery slowly already taking over. A few MofW cars stayed behind but reportedly they will be filled with rail to be used elsewhere on the OSR, and a small track mobile in a week or so will slowly push the cars over the out of service OSR bridge in town where OSR will lift them and put an end to rail operations in Tillsonburg’s South end.

Very interesting Steve, I was wondering why it didn’t come with the train yesterday. I figured maybe it wasn’t Road worthy to do a long trip to St. Thomas. It would have made a cool caboose for the train, LOL.

Very nice and historical picture Marcus. A sad moment but with a touch of class thanks to OSR. Seeing these back-to-back A units on old Airline rails brings back memories of Wabash F’s moving through town. Question, if a road railrer can cross the out of service OSR bridge in town with a few loaded maintenance of way cars, could not the same could be done with a freight car or two for customers south of this bridge ?

Futute transfer did the move today for one of the cars while everyone was waiting at tillsonburg for the departure. Trackmobile and one car, the flatcar with the modular building on top.

The 4 flatcars for rail will apparently do the same thing once loaded. They are on osr track and sit waiting to be loaded still.

Great photo Marcus. It was a really bittersweet occasion, you may have seen me, i was the young man in the red hoodie. I find it interesting that they are going to push the cars over the out of service bridge, any info about what exact day they will run, or just approximate? i want to try to catch them if i can, being that it may be my only chance to ever see rail activity on that bridge as i missed it before.
