Comments on: It is one of those damp snowy sloppy days at the old Burlington West (Freeman) station. Eastbound VIA 6762 is making a stop. I am wondering if this is the mid-morning #84. These days the area is now barren, as the station was moved over to Fairview Av., preserved as a museum. The opening of the large GO facility just to the east made the Burlington West station redundant.

My favorite spot to give away the “flimsies” to the railfans at this station. I remember those hot summer nights where the “foamers” (yes i am a proud member) were lined up in their lawn chairs, checking out all the action on the Oakville and Halton Subs. Those were the days my friend!!

I still enjoy finding newspaper boxes in service. There is one on Charlton Ave in Hamilton still in service. I buy one every once in a while. They are rarely used anymore.
