Comments on: It looks a lot different looking eastward from the Inksetter Rd bridge at Copetown than it does now. This was a nice location that has gotten tighter with each passing year as foliage is allowed to creep ever closer over the RoW.
This image from back in 1984 has CN 2543, 9514 and 3208 up front of a westbound seemingly all boxcars. I rather miss them. It gets me to wondering what was in all those cars that we do not ship now.
The three locomotives featured are of course gone from the CN roster. CN 2543 was renumbered to 3543 and eventually ended up at Hudsons Bay Rwy. CN 9514 sold to Progressive Rail 2002; CN 3208 retired by 1989.

They will, the question is how far and where will it go - the new crossing regulations go into effect November 2021, which is why all signals are being replaced - old cantilevers, LED's, etc are being rushed. There's a push to give a 3 year extension on it all,

part of the regulation are sight-lines, they've had 5 years so far to get it done but it seems as usual last minute.

Just like how the PTC implementation went in the US.

CN has done some great brush cutting in some spots... but in others, it's a forest and GO trains are brushed multiple times daily (and scratched) the foliage is so close.

Wow.. newsprint is right. I was here the other day, it was unshootable at 6-7 PM..... too many shadows in the sun. It's practically a forest.

Great shot Arnold! Two thoughts on less boxcars today - a lot less newsprint moving, and a lot more containers now.
