Comments on: It’s hard to believe that BNSF 2098 has been assigned to Brantford for almost three months. Expecting it wouldn’t be around long, on it’s second day in Brantford I chased it to Hagersville and back on a rather soggy day. Clearly, I didn’t have to. Originally paired with CN 9547, CN 4713 came and went, now it’s working with CN 4791. By now, I’m sure nearly every railfan in Southern Ontario has gotten a photograph of it. Railfans from several States have also made the trek to Brantford to photograph the cascade green BNSF. My first photo of BNSF 2098 was on June 8 pulling out of yard trailing on CN 581, so I thought it was fitting to upload a considerably better photo of it doing exactly the same thing in much nicer conditions.

@Steve, I assumed both logos were repainted the same night. If not, I don’t know.

Well in the railfanning community, who really knows. There has been stories circulating of foamers taking items from railway property, and often trespassing of course.

I remember the SP randomly appearing. it's just too bad they painted over the Southern Pacific lettering on the sides. That was the coolest aspect of that unit. GEXR had some pretty interesting power at times.

Remember GEXR 3054 with the SP on the nose?

the C&O logo on the side of a PRLX SD70ACe?

There are folks out there that should be volunteering for museums.. but they prefer to see it on the mainline..

Ask yourself again if you think any of this was allowed or sanctioned... I think you'll find your answer :)

Interesting. Well, it's well done. Did they get permission from CN to do that? It seems something that was well-planned out. There are pictures circulating online of something similar in the US - someone did a good job painting the Chessie System "cat" on the nose of a CSX engine.

And that logo was applied by a railfan a few weeks ago, which is why it's only on one side.
