Comments on: January 14, 1967 was a special day for fans of the Toronto Hamilton & Buffalo Railway, as the Upper Canada Railway Society ran an excursion covering TH&B and NYC lines (NYC owning 73% of the TH&B, CPR the other 27%) in Southern Ontario, and included utilizing an NYC GP9 on the point. Here, the train waits to depart Hunter Street station for the first leg of the trip, Hamilton – Waterford. From there, the train will run east on the NYC’s CASO to Welland, where it will turn back west on the TH&B going Welland – Hamilton.Bill Thomson shot the train at “Summit” near Copetown. Stay tuned for Doug Page’s shot just across the tracks from Bill.Doug Page Photo, Bruce Acheson Collection Slide.

Talked to Doug.He remember’s two stories about this trip. First one was going up the hill towards Summit they had to stop;the brakes on the 7504 were dragging. The second one was them having to operate the train from the 402. Any more stories are welcome.
