Comments on: Just over a dozen years ago I posted an image taken at Aldershot showing 4 GO units on weekend lease to CN. Comments were that “I didn’t know CN leased GO” to, “are you sure this isn’t a CP train over CN”?? as it did look rather unusual to say the least. After all this time, I found a slide I knew I had that pretty much confirms this was a CN train and they indeed leased GO power for a time. This image shows GO 9801, 9804, 710 and 709 powering a CN train as it is heading up the Halton Sub to MAC. And it is late day on a Sunday, so I would assume they had to get this power back to GO in order for the units to be ready for morning. Just assuming.
